ALOES

All Aloe species are succulent perennials which often go by common names that denote the part of the world where they are found.

Aloes (Cape) is an exudate which drains from the cut leaves of the plant, evaporated to dryness. It contains anthraquinones (organic compounds) which are strong laxatives. They work on the lower bowel causing it to contract. The mechanism of action is thought to be by induction of nitric oxide release.

Found in Potter’s Cleansing Herb Tablets.
