The most important action of Echinacea is probably its ability to stimulate the immune system. Several laboratory and animal studies suggest that Echinacea contains active substances that enhance the activity of the immune system and so has the ability to raise the body’s resistance to bacterial and viral infections. Antibacterial, antiviral and antioxidant effects have also been documented.

Echinacea angustifolia root is believed to be the most active form of the Echinacea species and works synergistically with wild indigo.

It is used especially for skin diseases and to aid wound healing and for upper respiratory-tract infections such as tonsillitis and pharyngitis, as a preventative as well as a treatment.

Some studies have shown that the herb can make you feel better faster.
