JAMAICA DOGWOOD

Also known as fish poison tree, this herb acts as both a sedative and a painkiller and is mainly used in the treatment of insomnia and over-excitability. It is also useful for nerve pain, migraine, high blood pressure and period pain.

Scientific studies have shown that bark extracts of this plant have anti-inflammatory, sedative, and help to reliev and soothe muscle spasms along the digestive tract. These spasmolytic principles were shown to be the isoflavones which are one of the main constituents in the herb.
